June Draw Winners

“The winner of the draw held in July to win tickets to an Ospreys rugby match at the Liberty Stadium was Mr and Mrs G Richards of Penllergaer, Swansea.”

Swansea Women’s Community Ensemble

We invite all women from across the community to join a singing ensemble meeting once a week at the Townhill Campus, Swansea Metropolitan University.  This is for anyone who likes to sing – no experience necessary, no fees – fun, welcoming, open to all.

We aim to explore the joy of singing, with songs from around the world, learnt easily by ear, including body and voice exercises combined with simple harmony songs to help empower and send you home uplifted!

The choir is being organised by the Swansea Charity Partnership in association with Danielle Meunier, BMus, MA, Course Director and Head of Voice, Performing Arts and Theatre Studies, Swansea Metropolitan University. The first session will be held on Tuesday 15th September in the Theatre rehearsal room at Townhill Campus, Townhill Road, from 6.00 until 7.30 pm. ALL WOMEN FROM ACROSS THE COMMUNITY ARE WELCOME

We may be able to offer crèche facilities for children from October if there is sufficient demand.

Photography Exhibition

A photography exhibition has been held in the Civic Centre Swansea from 1st July – 27th July.

John Shaw and Richard ThomasThe purpose of the exhibition is to introduce the Swansea Charity Partnership to a wider audience.

Most of the photographs were taken by John Shaw and Richard Thomas, photography students from Swansea Metropolitan University, as part of their final year BA Hons Degree in Fine Art, so this is an excellent opportunity for them to launch themselves into the world of photographic art.

When John and I agreed to participate in this exhibition, it was with excitement. This project presented us with a unique challenge of producing images for four different charities, each completely different from the next, and each requiring a different approach to capturing those images.

Photographs of Local AidLocal Aid

With the photographs for Local Aid, I did not want to focus on the children’s disabilities. I wanted to show their individual characters and personalities in the playful, caring environment provided by Local Aid.

Swansea Community Farm's animalsSwansea Community Farm

This was the first charity I photographed. I wanted to capture the enjoyment that the children had for learning, how this had been implemented through fun activities and involvement with animals. I feel that I have managed to encapsulate the fun atmosphere that prevails over the space and those that attend.
